Montezuma Expo set for Tuesday, March 9
Feb. 25, 2010
An indoor mall with a distinct Montezuma flavor is set for its annual one-night stand.
The annual Montezuma Area Business Expo, sponsored by the Montezuma Community Boosters, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, in and near the Montezuma Community High School gym.
Exhibitors at the show will consist of up to 60 vendors including retailers, home business operators and officials of church and civic groups. There is no admission fee.
This year's Expo will feature announcement of four winners of Monte Bucks, totaling $200 in all. Winners must be in attendance when announced.
Also on hand will be puppies and kittens from PALS (Poweshiek Animal Shelter League) that can be adopted.
Featured will be an auto crash simulator by Monsanto. Two people at a time can ride the Seat Belt Convincer. They buckle their seat belts and the machine simulates an accident at a speed of five to seven miles an hour. The speed is generated by gravity and the slope of the trailer the simulator sits on.
The simulator will be available earlier in the day for Montezuma High School students to try out.
The Montezuma Schools kitchen staff will provide a spaghetti summer for $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children through sixth grade.
Many vendors will offer prizes and have other giveaways during the evening. All will be on hand to discuss the goods and services that they offer.
