SCARECROW
CONTEST 2009

Create a scarecrow to display on Montezuma's new downtown streetlight poles and have fun at the same time.
Contest is open to any school, youth organization/facility, neighborhood group, family or individual, business, office group or in short, everyone!
CONTEST RULES
1.) Scarecrows must be in place by Tuesday, Sept. 29.
2.) Please keep in mind when selecting materials for your scarecrow that it should be built to withstand wind, rain and snow. They may be constructed by any method, but must be in good taste. No entry will be accepted that reflects controversial, social or political situations. We reserve the right to remove any entry that does not meet these standards.
3.) Scarecrows should be attached to the light poles with twine, plastic ties or similar materials that will not scratch the light
poles. They should face the street.
4.) Scarecrows should remain until Oct. 24th and then be removed.

1st Place - $75.00
2nd Place - $60.00
3rd Place - $40.00
4th Place - $30.00
5th Place - $20.00
Entry forms are available at Three Sisters, Vannoy Chevrolet or the City Office or you can click HERE for a printed version. Completed entries may be dropped off at either of the above mentioned businesses or mailed to Montezuma Community Boosters at P.O. Box 111 in Montezuma, Iowa 50171.
All entries will receive:
1.) A "Scarecrow Birth Certificate" to be attached to the scarecrow
2.) Notification of which light pole to place the scarecrow
Judging will be done on Sept. 30th, 2009.
Scarecrow pictures will be posted on www.montezuma.org as they are "born".
We'll be watching for your creation!
