2020 team has a circle of values

This is the circle of values that have been identified by the Monte 2020 Visioning Team.
The team is keeping all that it is doing within the scope of values:
- Education
- Leadership and teamwork
- Small town atmosphere
- Community caring and giving
- Location and amenities
- Economic opportunities
In addition, the group has drafted a single paragraph statement of its vision. It is not in final form. Members on Tuesday evening, July 28, discussed adding phrases having to do with "rural areas" "church" and "caring and giving" to the paragraph.
Here is how the paragraph looked at the start of the evening and remember, it is being amended:
"Imagine it is the year 2020, and we are living, working and playing in the Montezuma area of Iowa.
In 2020, the Montezuma area is a thriving, growing community with a widely shared sense of identity and direction, built on over time and marketed for well-rounded growth. We intertwine the Lake Area and the city with a variety of business, civic, and personal relationships. In 2020, we have a variety of entertainment options and restaurants, often with regional draw. Our school system continues to produce students that are academically among the very best in Iowa. Because of residential growth and thriving economic opportunities, we have sustained high quality health professionals, strong local businesses and a vibrant, varied housing market. We are a beautiful community, displaying our pride in our residences, public areas and entryways. Throughout the Midwest, the Montezuma area of Iowa shines as the prime example of an area getting extraordinary results through hard work together."
